The Murcia Declaration strongly reaffirms the central role of General Practice/Family Medicine in delivering equitable, sustainable, and accessible healthcare systems. In the face of workforce shortages and ongoing digital transformation, UEMO calls for stronger political and institutional recognition of General Practitioners/Family Physicians throughout Europe.

- Ensure safe working conditions and adopt a zero-tolerance policy against workplace violence.
- Enhance initial and continuous training; enforce compliance with the European Working Time Directive.
- Promote digital tools as supportive to, not replacements for, face-to-face consultations.
- Combat overmedicalisation and promote prevention and patient empowerment.
- Advocate for full and equal recognition of General Practice/Family Medicine as a medical specialty in the EU.
