At European level, the accreditation of scientific events in the field of Medicine is currently carried out in a systematic and impartial manner by EACCME, an entity that until the signing of the agreement between UEMO and EACCME in March 2024 did not have the possibility of assigning FDs/GPs themselves as reviewers of FM/GP events. Furthermore, the accreditation provided by EACCME is recognized in other non-European countries, as a result of a mutual credit recognition mechanism existing between UEMS-EACCME, the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
