THE DEVELOPMENT OF eHEALTH: A NEW WHO REPORT
Which progress has been made in advancing eHealth? From Innovation to Implementation. eHealth in the WHO European Region is the new World Health Organisation report addressing the question.
According to the report, eHealth is not evenly adopted in the WHO European Region: whereas some countries show good progress, others have either weak or no governance, legislation nor legal protection at all in eHealth. The WHO recommends that countries focus on formulating a national vision and plans, and repeatedly highlights the importance of public health authorities taking action before commercial organisations step in to take advantage of eHealth potential economic gains.
