EACCME Accreditation Requests
Submit all requests for EACCME accreditation directly through the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) platform: Home | European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
Once EACCME receives and processes an application, it will forward it to UEMO for reviewer allocation and completion of the specialty-specific review process. Applicants are therefore requested to initiate all accreditation requests via the EACCME platform and not directly through UEMO. Furthermore, It is important to note that eligible scientific events must include general practitioners or family physicians among their participants.
Cooperation with UEMS
At the European level, the accreditation of scientific events in the field of Medicine is currently carried out systematically and impartially by EACCME, an entity that, until the signing of the agreement between UEMO and EACCME in March 2024, did not have the possibility of assigning FDs/GPs themselves as reviewers of FM/GP events. Furthermore, the accreditation provided by EACCME is recognized in other non-European countries, as a result of a mutual credit recognition mechanism existing between UEMS-EACCME, the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).
